Wedding card

Today's post is a simple yet elegant wedding card.  The sentiment is from a stamp set in the Occasions Mini catalog called "Perfect Couple."  This set is not being carried over into the new catalog which debuts June 2nd.  But I loved the bold font, and thought it would be perfect to add some Dazzling Details to make the diamond sparkle, and used a rhinestone to dot the "i."   I will definitely use this set down the road as it also has sentiments for a wedding anniversary.

I used the standard card measurements for an A2 top fold card with the black layer measuring 4" x 5-1/4".  The white layer measures 3-3/4" x 5" and was embossed with the "Beautifully Baroque" embossing folder.   For the text box, the black layer measures 2-1/2" x 1-3/4".  The white layer is approximately 2-3/8" x 1-5/8".   The sentiment was stamped using StazOn black ink, the layers glued together, and then popped up using dimensionals.

new product sneak peek

Hello stampers!
Today's card feastures some new products which will be available with the release of the new catalog coming in June.

I began with a card base of Whisper White cardstock, measuring 4-1/4" x 11", scored at 5-1/2".  This forms a standard size A2 card.  The next layer also in Whisper White  measures 3-1/2" x 4-3/4".  The DSP is from a new small paper stack called "Moonlight."   The DSP layer measures 3-1/4" x 4-1/2", which has been adhered to the white layer.  This layer was then attached to the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals.  The tag was formed by stamping on a piece of Whisper White cardstock measuring 2" x 4".  I first stamped the bottom chevron design from a new stamp set called "Work of Art" in Hello Honey ink.  The technique is second generation stamping, because the lighter layer was stamped without re-inking the stamp.  The "Happy Birthday" sentiment was stamped in Blackberry Bliss ink, and is from a new hostess set called "Bloom with Hope."  The top of the tag was formed using the Scalloped Tag Topper punch.  I added a piece of our new Blackberry Bliss ribbon.  This ribbon is absolutely gorgeous and ties so beautifully.  I stamped three small hearts in Blackberry Bliss, Hello Honey, and Basic Gray on a scrap of Whisper White cardstock using the stamp set called "Something to Say."  We have a new trio of punches, and the small heart punch coordinates with this stamp set.  So cute!  The tag was attached at an angle to the front of the card using dimensionals, and I scattered the small hearts on the tag,  The Blackberry Bliss heart was glued directly to the card front, but the Basic Gray and Hello Honey hearts were popped with dimensionals.  The finishing touch was to add a small rhinestone to each heart.  I think this is a simple but sweet card for someone special in your life.

Another "TBD"

Hey stampers....
Here's another great "to be determined" card I found on Dawn Griffith's Youtube channel.  I used her basic design, and just added a little extra embossing and Dazzling Details for a little extra bling.  You can never have enough bling!

The base of the card is your standard A2 size (8.5" x 5.5") except this is a gatefold style card.  It was scored at 2-1/2" and 6-3/4".  The sentiment "hello" is from a stamp set in the Occasions mini catalog called "Simply Celebrate."   I stamped that on 1-1/2" square of Very Vanilla cardstock using StazOn black ink.  This square was then mounted on a piece of Basic Black cardstock measuring 1-7/8" square.  The Very Vanilla layers measure 4" x 5-1/4" for the inside liner, 2-1/4"  x 5-1/4"  for the left flap, and 1-1/2" x 5-1/4" for the right flap.  I ran the flap pieces through the dotted embossing folder to add some extra texture to the card front before attaching them to the flaps.

The main focal layer is made from the "Modern Medley" DSP.  This paper is retiring, and I'm sad to see it go!  The DSP measures 2-3/4" x 4-1/2", attached to a layer of Basic Black cardstock measuring 3" x 4-3/4".

I took a scrap of Very Vanilla cardstock and stamped the three flowers from the "Flower Shop" stamp set using StazOn ink. I punched the flowers out with the coordinating punch, and sponged the centers with Tangerine Tango ink.

I assembled the card by attaching the DSP layer first, carefully adding adhesive only to the left side. Then I attached the "hello" text box using Stampin' Dimensionals, being careful to only add them to the right hand side of the small square.  This allows the "hello" box to become your closure as the left flap will fit underneath.  The last step for the front was to add dimensionals to the back of the flowers and attach them, then I dabbed them with Dazzling Details.    Whenever I decide what I need this card for, (birthday, get well, thinking of you) then I can stamp an appropriate sentiment inside.
