baptism card

Hello Stampers!
Today's card features a stamp set called "All God's Grace" from Stampin'Up!  I had purchased this set thinking it would be one of those "keeper" sets even after it retires.  Luckily it is getting carried over into the new catalog being released in June.
I used a retired embossing folder, but the idea was just to add some soft and pretty texture since the card is for an infant. Check your stash and see what folders you have.  I hoard embossing folders just like I hoard everything else used in stamping!    I stamped the cross image on a scrap of shimmery white cardstock and cut it out by hand.  It was popped up using dimensionals.  I used the archival Basic Gray ink from SU.  I used a strip of white satin ribbon to cover the seam between the bottom part of the layer that was embossed and the top which I left smooth for stamping.  For a finishing touch, I punched three small flowers out of shimmery white cardstock and added pearls to the centers.

White cardstock 8-1/2 x 5-1/2, scored at 4-1/4
White cardstock layer 3-3/4 x 5
Smokey Slate layer 3-7/8 x 5-1/8
scraps of shimmery white cardstock for cross and flowers

I hope you like today's card, and that you find some creative time for yourself.  My mojo has been on vacation lately.  It seems like there's never enough hours in a day.  When I have had some spare time, I've been working on card kits that I've purchased.  I've been trying to build up my card stash.  There are two local gift shops that sell my cards, so I always like to have a supply ready when they call to say inventory is low.  Plus with having a large extended family, I use a lot of birthday cards each month.

Happy stamping!!
